I’m running a grassroots campaign with big heart, not big money. Every donation helps spread the word, support accessibility advocacy, and bring real change to Ward 1.
If you believe in a more inclusive, accountable Fort McMurray — I’d be honoured to have your support.

Campaign Surplus Donation Announcement
If I have any funds left over from my campaign, they will be donated to the Voice of Albertans with Disabilities in honour of Margot Brunner, whose passion for disability advocacy continues to inspire me from heaven every day.
Margot’s legacy lives on through the Margot Brunner VAD Legacy Award, which supports individuals making a meaningful difference in the disability sector — just like she did. I’m proud to support this initiative and continue the work she believed in so deeply.

Hi, I'm Koryn Dyer
Thank you for stopping by! I’m running to represent Ward 1 because I believe our city deserves leadership that listens, includes, and takes action. Whether you’re here to volunteer, donate, or simply learn more — your support means the world. Together, we can build a more accessible and community-driven Fort McMurray.
My Story
I’m born and raised right here in Fort McMurray. I went to Dr. Clark, Timberlea, and Westwood Community High — proud to be a local through and through. Like many young adults, I had my share of struggles. But I found my path when I enrolled at Keyano College and took the Educational Assistant program under a group of great ladies!
Right after finishing, my cousin asked me to come work for their company — and that decision changed my life. It’s where I met my husband, Colin.
In 2014, I realized office life wasn’t for me. So, I returned to Keyano to continue my childhood studies, determined to open my own dayhome. We were so close to making that dream a reality… and then, life threw me a curveball.
While five months pregnant, I had a stroke. My son — who turns nine this May — was born healthy and strong. I’m the one who came out of it with physical impairments. Yet I survived, and I learned how to fight — for myself and for others.
One day while scrolling Facebook, I came across the Voice of Albertans with Disabilities. Their Executive Director, Margot Brunner, not only helped me access the disability support I desperately needed — she believed in me. She invited me to join the board. Today, I proudly serve as Vice President, and I carry Margot’s legacy with me in everything I do. I also attended Leadership Wood Buffalo held by Fuse Social in 2024!
I’m not a polished speaker. I stutter from my stroke. My words don’t always come out smoothly. But I have passion — and passion, not perfection, is what this community needs.
I’m honored to serve this community, in whatever way I can — whether through advocacy, leadership, or simply showing up with heart. Fort McMurray raised me, and now I’m ready to give back.
